Fundraiser

On May 24th, 2006, Ellen and Stacey Leondis accepted a check for $2,000 from the students of P.S. 100Q in South Ozone Park, NY.  Students at P.S. 100Q had participated in the Common Cents Penny Harvest earlier in the year. During the penny harvest, students had one month to bring in as many pennies as they could; after the harvest, students were able to select the charity of their choice to receive the collected money.

A sign made by Ms. DiMare's class that welcomed Ellen and Stacey to the school.

Class 5-408 was the second place class in P.S. 100, collecting 98 lbs
of pennies. They also wrote the proposal that nominated the Foster
Foundation to receive the proceeds from the Penny Harvest fundraiser.

each class in the school and chose the Foster Foundation as the organization
that would benefit the most from their donation.
